The great Tom Bancroft started the #MerMay series. I've been a bit busy to actually follow it up, but yesterday I took the night to actually finish an entire piece with inks. Here is the result. Please watch it while listening to this song: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Zx3RGuyN2S0

People in Vancouver
¡Hola!
I spend all day long at work drawing with a Cintiq so I usually go home and draw with traditional media. I normally use and mixed whatever I can to make it work.
This weekend I went back to an exercise that I really enjoy and got inspired a while ago by Marcelo Vignali and my good friend Brett Bean. I spot interesting people on the street and try to analyze them: I look for body shapes, cloth patterns and colors, props or whatever I can describe that person with and the most important I try to observe their mood or at least create a story behind them.
I then go back home and see what are the most iconic elements that are still on my mind and play with them.
For these I used Prismacolor and Copic markers, ink for the blacks parts and colour pencil to give accent to specific places. It is a really fun exercise plus I love getting out of the computer world.
Hope you like it!

Wood Paintings
I had a table for the first time in the VanCaf. I have never done this kind of activities before. It was very fun. I had a table beside my co-worker Cindey Chiang.
I did a few wood paintings. Something different from my normal art media.

More Acrylic
Another Sunday with Acrylics. This time trying more colors and filling more the page, not worrying about cutting the drawing out of the page. Also painted every part with a different tool: some brushes, napkins, by finger and some charcoal for whites.

Acrylics and water-colour
Sunday night I took it to use the acrylics a friend gave me as a present. I used them for the shirt and the background of the illustration, on the other hand the face has bits of water-colour, the blacks are Sharpie marker and some Copic marker here and there. I will tried to do a few and frame them to see if someone seems interest.
